Discover Twenty-Nine Latest Game Cards from Magic's TMNT Expansion (Including a Commander-Style Precon Deck!)
Everyone's favorite pizza-eating heroes are making their way to Magic: The Gathering. The well-known trading card game's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, announced a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion during a exclusive event hosted at NYCC. Is this a exciting new set or simply another crossover cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.
Check out below at all the details revealed from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration, including some useful background. All items listed below launches on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — a special Pizza Bundle drops a few weeks later on March 27th.
Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards
Before we get into all the various special decks and bundles available, let’s take a look at all the cards from the core Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by the developers. Standard booster packs for the expansion are set at $6.99 per pack, while Collector Boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.
Let's unpack a few shell-shocking details. First, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the already established Ninjutsu ability, in which players can play big creatures onto the battlefield when an attacker goes unblocked. The key change here is that Sneak can affect spells that aren’t creatures too. Wizards also took the opportunity to clean up the ability a little (Sneak is treated as casting, unlike the older mechanic). Ninjutsu is staying, but chances are players will encounter the new mechanic in upcoming expansions from now on.
Should we were to return to Kamigawa, we might use Ninjutsu because that's where it originated and it’s a hallmark of that world,” a senior designer explained. “However in other settings, since the mechanics are smoother and Sneak will be in standard, it's more likely we’ll use the updated version.”
Another version of Leonardo, Sewer Samurai, is among four cards with special art created specifically for the expansion by TMNT original artist the co-creator.
Additionally, if you're shocked by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play game cards that aren't in your deck, so was I. But as per the developers, it’s now a official card in every format of Magic.
In any case, here are the extremely bizarre full-art lands from this set:
Following the company’s existing guidelines, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard play. The designers state they took care to make sure the cards and mechanics meshed well with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.
“I led the development for over a year and we knew it would be Standard-legal and what other sets would be alongside it in standard,” a lead designer commented. “We designed to make sure that there's synergy with some of those sets including Edge of Eternities.”
For example, each of TMNT and Edge of Eternities include a Izzet archetype focused on artifacts.
“They combine to provide the pieces for a enjoyable Standard-legal deck,” he added.
Commander Deck: Turtle Power
Following a decision to create any Commander precons for Spider-Man and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender collaborations, the company is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It’s only one precon, but it does come with six different legendary cards who could work as your commander depending on how you pair them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that lets you start with two of them in the command area rather than just one). Take a look for yourself:
This Commander deck is set at $69.99, although that could easily go up due to demand. Wizards told that it contains 43 brand-new cards in total, which means an extra thirty-seven TMNT-themed game cards in addition to the six legendary commanders pictured earlier. (Calculating roughly, this suggests about 20 reprinted cards if we estimate the precon includes 37 lands.)
How will the Turtles version of the iconic Sol Ring appear? We’ll just have to wait and find out.
Standard Bundle (Regular)

Pizza Bundle

For those curious what a “pizza bundle promo” means, it’s essentially a reprinted older card featuring all-new Turtle-themed art. The team revealed one for the well-known Magic card Dark Ritual featuring art of master Splinter sprinkling black licorice pieces onto a pizza slice. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos in total.
The Pizza Bundle releases a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Cooperative Play Set
Finally, Wizards are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as in line with its ongoing effort to create Magic game products aimed at beginners. Here, the cooperative set is a special set of decks that let you and a friend join forces against a “Boss” deck that pilots itself.
The concept here that every Boss card gives unique powers to the creature cards included in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically plays one other card per turn, and you’ll start off fighting {one Boss|
