The attacker has scored 5 strikes in ten domestic competition appearances this season.

Los Merengues winger Vinicius Jr has said sorry to the fanbase for his reaction when taken off in the recent heated El Clasico victory.

The Brazilian was replaced in the second half and expressed his annoyance by walking immediately off the pitch.

He eventually reappeared to the dugout and, after his team's narrow triumph, attempted to approach the opposition's opposing player during unpleasant post-match incidents.

"Now I want to express regret to all the supporters for my behavior when I was substituted in the derby," Vinicius wrote on social media.

"Just as I have previously expressed during this morning's session, I wish to say sorry once more to my teammates, the team, and the leadership.

"Occasionally fervor overcomes me because I constantly desire to triumph and help my club. My competitive character originates in the passion I feel for this team and each thing it represents."

He joined Real from Brazil in the year 2018 for £38.7m and has accumulated 111 goals in more than 300 games.

But his career in the Madrid is unclear with reports in recent months suggesting that the club would contemplate letting the player leave if they obtained a appropriate bid.

When he was substituted on the match day, TV coverage from network the platform picked him up remarking: "Always me! I'm departing the side! It's better if I depart, I'm going."

In his new statement on X, the athlete said: "I promise to keep striving constantly for the good of Los Blancos, as I have acted since the initial arrival."
